How to Take the Shahadah

Entering Islam is simple and personal. There is no complicated process — it begins with sincere belief and a declaration of faith.

    Believe sincerely in the Oneness of Allah and the finality of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

    Recite the testimony: Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Allah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah.

    Meaning: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."

    There is no fixed ceremony required — sincerity is what matters. Many find it meaningful to take it in the presence of witnesses at a local mosque.
